The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) is a landmark Indian law implemented in all states to regulate the real estate sector, increasing transparency, accountability, and protecting homebuyer interests.

Government of India has enacted the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016. Under this Act, Government of Telangana notified the Telangana Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Rules 2017 vide G.O.Ms.No.202, Dt.31-07-2017 for regulation and promotion of real estate sector in the State of Telangana and vide G.O. Ms. No. 84 & 85, Dt.12.06.2023 permanent Authority has been established with Dr.N.Satyanarayana, IAS as the Chairperson and Sri J.Laxminarayana and Sri K.Srinivasa Rao as Members of the Authority to manage the affairs under the Act. Further vide G.O.Ms.No.8, Dt.11-01-2018.
